Walt Mueller is the founder and President of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding and has been working with young people and families for 31 years. As a result of his work with CPYU, Walt has become an internationally-recognized speaker and author on contemporary youth culture. He has written extensively on youth culture and family issues and is the author of the following books: Opie Doesn’t Live Here Anymore: Where Faith, Family, and Culture Collide (Standard Publishing, August 2007); Youth Culture 101 (Zondervan, June 2007); I Want to Talk With my Teen About Movies, Music & More (Standard Publishing, September 2006); Engaging The Soul of Youth Culture: Bridging Teen Worldviews To Christian Truth (InterVarsity Press, February 2006); and the critically acclaimed Gold Medallion Award winner, Understanding Today’s Youth Culture (Tyndale House, 1994). He is also a regular contributor to numerous journals and magazines. A graduate of Geneva College (B.A.) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Walt has recently completed his doctorate at Gordon-Conwell in “Ministry to Postmodern Generations.” Walt has served in ministry with the Coalition for Christian Outreach and as a youth pastor in churches in Johnstown, PA and Philadelphia. Walt is grateful to his wife Lisa for the role she’s played in the development and success of CPYU. Not only has she encouraged and supported Walt in ministry, but she has served behind the scenes since day one as CPYU’s secretary. A graduate of Geneva College who has a background in radio, Lisa’s voice can be heard on CPYU’s daily Youth Culture Today radio spot. Walt and Lisa live in Elizabethtown and have four children. Dr. Tom Fuller is General Evangelist for the United Methodist Church. He began studying John Wesley in the 1970s. He was fascinated by Wesley’s high Christian standards, his commitment to Scripture, his balanced understanding of God, his energy and his optimism. Wesley’s goal was spreading Christ throughout the world. Eventually he did. Two questions kept returning to Tom’s mind: “Why am I not like that?” and “Why is my church not like that?” Dissatisfied with mediocre standards, Tom wrote the John Wesley Academy to return Christians to a clear understanding of our thrilling heritage. For five years Tom spent early mornings studying and writing The John Wesley Academy. Tom has preached, taught and sung across North America, as well as in Great Britain and India.

  Gerald Schroeder earned his BSc, MSc and PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His doctorate is in the Earth Sciences and Nuclear Physics. Dr. Schroeder’s yeshiva studies were guided by Rabbi Chaim Brovender at ITRI, and before that by the late Rabbi Herman Pollack. He is the author of Genesis and the Big Bang, the Discovery of Harmony between Modern Science and the Torah, published by Bantam Doubleday (now in six languages). His second book, The Science of God, published by Free Press of Simon & Schuster, was on the Barnes & Noble bestseller list for three months. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife (the author Barbara Sofer) and their five children. Professor Schroeder served in the IDF, as do his two sons, who are officers.

Her passion for helping people discover life purpose has led her to Calcutta to talk to Mother Teresa about joy; to Belfast as a guest of Ireland’s Nobel Peace Laureate to discuss inner peace; and to the tiny island of Malta to study St. Paul’s time of shipwreck. Now she’s taken that expertise and valuable perspective and made it available to you. Katie earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy/Human Behavior Leadership, an M.A. in Theology, an M.A. in Educational Administration, and an M.A. in English. She has two grown children and a daughter-in-law and resides in southern California.  
  Katie demonstrates how you can bridge the list of things you must do every day, the things that you want to do in order to remain vibrant, and the search for the unique purpose chosen for you by God. With the go-ahead from her Saddleback Church pastor (Pastor Rick), Katie builds upon the five key purposes described in The Purpose-Driven Life to guide you as you drill down to find your role in God’s plan.
